Nordics / Brands
Born in
the North.
A curated view of Nordic brands — where each one comes from, and who owns it now.

Function, material honesty and a clear point of view — the qualities that travel furthest from the North.
These pages are editorial selections rather than directories or rankings. Each brand is recorded once, with its origin and its current ownership treated as two separate facts, because in the Nordics they frequently are.

How these pages work
- Selections are editorial. There are no rankings, ratings or scores, and no brand pays for inclusion.
- Origin, legal entity, parent group and current owner are recorded as separate fields.
- Facts that could not be traced to a primary source are left out rather than estimated.
- Every brand record carries the date it was last checked.
Nordic, not Scandinavian
Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Nordic region adds Finland and Iceland. Finnish and Icelandic brands appear here as Nordic, never as Scandinavian, because the terms are not interchangeable.
Ownership is stated for the same reason. A brand founded in the Nordics may be controlled from Toronto, Tokyo, Zurich or Hangzhou, and knowing which changes how you approach it.
