Nordic logisticscompanies
Selected logistics, freight, shipping, warehousing and supply-chain companies operating across the Nordic region — with the market structure an international company needs in order to read them.

01
Why Nordic logistics looks the way it does
The Nordic region is a small population spread over a large, difficult area, with a high share of exported goods and a very high share of e-commerce. Those four facts produce a logistics market that behaves differently from central Europe: long distances between customers, expensive last-mile delivery, seasonal road conditions, strong maritime dependence, and a temperature-controlled export flow — seafood — that requires speed rather than volume.
The market is also unusually consolidated at the top. A handful of Nordic-headquartered groups compete globally, and the same names appear in freight forwarding, ferry logistics, parcel networks and cold chain across all five countries.
The largest recent structural change is DSV's acquisition of DB Schenker: the acquired business is consolidated from 1 May 2025, which is why DSV's reported 2025 revenue of DKK 247.3bn contains eight months of it and cannot be compared with 2024. For international shippers this narrows the number of genuinely global Nordic-owned forwarding alternatives, and makes the mid-sized specialist forwarders more interesting rather than less.

Market structure by country
| Country | What shapes logistics | Practical consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Norway | Long coastline, mountainous interior, dispersed industry, seafood exports | Sea and air matter more than in the rest of the region; national coverage is not the same as Oslo coverage |
| Sweden | Large land mass, industrial base spread from Skåne to Norrbotten, rail and road corridors | Road and rail networks with regional terminal structure; long domestic distances |
| Denmark | Gateway position between continental Europe and the Nordics | Ferry, road corridor and forwarding headquarters concentration |
| Finland | Eastern position, Baltic sea routes, forest and process industry volumes | Sea freight dependence and heavy industrial flows; distinct from Scandinavian road logistics |
| Iceland | Island economy, North Atlantic routes, fisheries exports | Liner shipping and reefer capability define access; air freight for high-value fresh goods |
Nordic country-level revenue is rarely disclosed by international logistics groups. Where it is not published, this page shows no figure rather than an estimate.
03
Selected companies by segment
The scope of this page is companies for which moving, storing or organising the movement of goods is the business itself: freight forwarding, contract logistics and warehousing, road and parcel networks, cold chain, and shipping where the cargo belongs to someone else. A manufacturer that runs its own trucks is not a logistics company and is not listed here.
Companies are grouped by what they actually do, and the groups are not ranked against each other. Inclusion means a company is a significant operator in Nordic flows whose figures can be traced to its own reporting — not that NORDICS considers it the largest, the leading, or the right choice for any particular shipment.

Shipping and ferry logistics
Ocean and short-sea capacity carrying other companies' cargo. In the Nordics this is not only container shipping: ferry routes carrying trailers and ro-ro vessels carrying vehicles are core freight infrastructure.

Segments overlap in practice. Several of these companies operate warehousing, customs brokerage and cold-chain services alongside their primary activity, and are grouped by where their revenue is concentrated. Figures are for the 2025 financial year and are shown in the currency each company reports in; the three postal groups report in three different currencies and are not comparable by size on this page.

What matters when choosing a Nordic logistics partner
- Whether the coverage claimed is owned or bought in — and, if bought in, who actually handles the final delivery.
- Customs capability across the EU/EEA boundary: Norway and Iceland are outside the EU customs union, so goods moving from the EU cross a customs border.
- Temperature control, if relevant. Nordic cold chain is a genuine specialism, built around seafood and pharmaceuticals.
- Terminal locations relative to your actual customers, rather than to the capital city.
- Winter performance and lead-time reliability, which is where quoted transit times and real transit times separate.
- Whether reporting and visibility meet your customers' expectations; Nordic buyers ask for delivery data as standard.
For companies entering the region, logistics and route to market are usually the same decision. A distributor holding local stock removes most of these questions and takes the margin that goes with them; direct supply keeps the margin and the problems.
Methodology
- Scope: companies whose business is the movement, storage or organisation of goods — forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing, road and parcel networks, cold chain, and shipping of third-party cargo. Companies that merely transport their own products are excluded.
- Selection: significant operators in Nordic flows, chosen for structural relevance across segments. This page is not a ranking and does not describe any company as the largest, best or leading.
- Revenue is the company's own reported figure for the 2025 financial year, in the currency it reports in. No conversion is applied, because the page does not rank.
- DSV's 2025 revenue includes DB Schenker from 1 May 2025 only, and is therefore not comparable with its own 2024 figure.
- Nordic or country-level revenue is not disclosed by most international groups, so no country-level figures are published here.
- No company pays for inclusion, position or description on this page.
